DRY FRACTIONATION
HUM Dry Fractionation Plant is well designed with large cooling surface area and special cooling programme (cooling curve), which is proven to give higher Olein yield. The operation of the plant can be operated by only one operator by advantages of high automation installed on it.
In edible oil processing, Dry Fractionation process consists of a controlled cooling of the oil, thereby provides crystallization. By means of cyrstallization separates vegetable oils such as palm oil into two fractions. The remaining liquid (olein) is then separated from the solid fraction (stearin) by means of a filtration or centrifugation.
RBD palm oil is fed into the crystallizers and then processed with controlled cooling. A controlled crystallization of the melt is most important step of dry fractionation process, and the success of this process relies principally on the phase behavior of the constituent triglyceridess. Our special design with large cooling surface area using cooling panel, we are able to obtain very constant crystal formation and which are most suitable for filtration by membrane press filter The cooling programme of each crystallizer is being controlled by the PLC system
Although the triglyceride separation theoretically is already stablished during crystallization, it is clear that the separation stage itself effectively determines the product yields as well as the stearin quality. Membrane filter press is usually used for filtration of oil slurry. Stearin is retained as filter cake while olein passes through the filter as filtrate. Olein yield is maximized by pressing the stearin cake by the way inflation of the membrane.
